đŸ–„ WebGL Required to Use Forecasa

Forecasa’s interactive map and visualization features rely on WebGL, a web technology that enables high-performance graphics right in your browser.

To use the Forecasa platform effectively, WebGL must be enabled in your browser.

🔍 What is WebGL?

WebGL (Web Graphics Library) is a JavaScript API that lets web applications render 2D and 3D graphics without the need for plugins. If WebGL is disabled or unsupported in your browser, parts of the Forecasa experience—such as map-based search and geo-filtering—won’t function properly.

✅ How to Enable WebGL in Your Browser

Follow the steps for your browser below to ensure WebGL is enabled:

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to: chrome://settings/system

  2. Make sure "Use hardware acceleration when available" is turned on

  3. Relaunch Chrome

  4. Visit chrome://gpu and confirm that WebGL is listed under “Graphics Feature Status” as "Hardware accelerated"

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox and go to: about:config

  2. Search for: webgl.disabled

  3. Make sure the value is set to false

  4. Also ensure webgl.force-enabled is set to true if you’re on older hardware

Safari (macOS)

  1. Go to Safari > Settings > Advanced

  2. At the bottom, check "Show Develop menu in menu bar"

  3. In the Develop menu, ensure "WebGL" is checked

  4. Restart Safari

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge and go to: edge://settings/system

  2. Turn on "Use hardware acceleration when available"

  3. Restart Edge

❗Still having trouble?

If you're still unable to access Forecasa’s features after enabling WebGL:

  • Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date

  • Try restarting your browser or computer

  • Use a supported browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge

If issues persist, contact Forecasa Support and we’ll help troubleshoot.
